Ink Refills:
Use Caution and Save
With Inkjet Refill Kits
Although printer
ink refills are the least expensive way to renew your print cartridge,
the inkjet refill is also the most potentially damaging. First of
all, most printers have the actual print head right on the print cartridge.
These are very sensitive, and even a thumb can damage them. You can
save lots of money using printer ink refills, but you can quickly
undo your savings.
Another risk with
printer ink refills is the potential mess of the ink itself. An ink
cartridge refill is supposed to go into the print cartridge and not
anywhere else. I myself have had a few minor accidents with an inkjet
refill kit. If you can lock the dog, the kids and all the other general
distractions out while you do the operation you will fare better in
the long run.
Another factor
is in the continual refilling of the same print cartridge over and
over. Some claim to have refilled an inkjet cartridge 15 times, but
not all of us are so lucky. The print heads do wear down eventually.
However, if you are very careful in how you handle the printer cartridge,
you may be able to use printer ink refills for a long time with the
same ink cartridge.
