Lexmark Print Cartridge:
A case study with my inkjet cartridge
I have a Lexmark
Colorjet 3200 printer. Since I've had it for a few years, I've had
to replace both the color and the black inkjet cartridge several times.
The first time I needed a new color lexmark print cartridge, I went
to the office supply store and paid about 35 bucks for a new Lexmark
print cartridge. Then when my black ink ran out, I tried a compatible
inkjet cartridge from an internet merchant. This one cost about $22.00.
The new one would have cost $32.00.
The color replacement
Lexmark print cartridge worked fine, as did the black "compatible"
inkjet cartridge.
The next time
the color ran out, I tried an inkjet refill kit. This is where you
drill a little hole in the cartridge and shoot the ink in there with
a needle. I did make a bit of a mess with it, and the red never quite
worked that great. The kit was cheap, maybe $12.00. I also tried a
refill kit with the black ink, and that worked fine, and cost $11.00.
My conclusion was that I would rather buy a remanufactured Lexmark
print cartridge with the color ink, but an inkjet cartridge refill
kit with the black. If you want to find the best way to go for your
