How Much Did You Pay for that Ink Cartridge?
Although inkjets
were available in the 1980's, it wasn't until the 90's that inkjet
printers dropped enough in price to become practical for the home
user. Inkjet printers have an advantage over low-priced laserjet printers
in that they can print in color. However, inkjet printers are more
expensive to maintain. You'll be buying a lot more Lexmark ink cartridges,
and thus spending more to keep your printer cartridge full than with
a laserjet printer. To counter this extra expense, consider getting
your Lexmark ink cartridges from a discount online retailer. An ink
cartridge can be purchased for a fraction of the retail cost. Whether
it's an ink cartridge or a toner cartridge, you can really save alot.
On most inkjets,
ink is squirted out of the ink cartridge at a blinding speed. It takes
about a half a second for the print cartridge to go across the page,
and there are about 2500 ink droplets per line. Although these are
tiny droplets, you can see that you'll need to replace your Lexmark
ink cartridges fairly often if you do a decent amount of printing.
Inkjet printer cartridges can only hold so much ink!
