Refill:
Ink jet Refill Kits are the
Cheapest Option
If your printer
needs an ink refill, your first thought might be to go to the store
where you bought it and buy an ink refill cartridge there. If you
don't know any better, you'll pay full retail for the manufacturer's
brand ink jet refill cartridge that's offered there. But did you
know that you can do your own ink jet refill for a fraction of
the cost?
Let's take my
own Lexmark 3200 inkjet printer as an example. It's your typical
low-cost home inkjet printer. It has a black inkjet printer ink
cartridge, and a color inkjet cartridge. When the black ran dry
and needed an ink refill, I went to the office supply store and
bought a Lexmark ink jet refill cartridge for about $32.00.
The next time
it needed an ink refill, I looked online and bought an ink jet
refill kit for $10.95, and followed the instructions and did it
myself.
Both solutions
worked perfectly in my printer, but the ink refill kit cost about
one-third of the Lexmark brand inkjet ink cartridge. The only main
difference was that I had to do a little work with the ink jet
refill kit. With the color cartridges, ther's a little more work
involved, as you have to fill up three compartments.
