HP Printer Cartridges:
A Print
Cartridge Primer
Printing ink for
replacing your HP ink cartridges can be a large and sometimes shocking
expense. Finding ways to minimize this expense in buying HP ink cartridges
and other brands is a challenge we all face. As time has gone by,
certain aspects of the the print cartridge scene have changed. It
used to be a pretty common practice to go with one 3-color print cartridge
to handle all colors in printing, even black. Black would be created
by mixing in all colors.
Although this
made it possible to print a full range of colors while only requiring
one print cartridge, it would result in draining all of the colors
when printing black text, which is what the bulk of a lot of peoples'
printing is comprised of. What resulted was our HP ink cartridge would
run out too often, and we'd be buying printing ink way too frequently.
Printer manufacturers
started switching over to a four-color printing ink system as the
standard, making a separate black print cartridge to go with a 3-color
print cartridge with red, yellow and cyan printing ink. This solved
the problem of using up all of your ink on black text printing. Now,
us HP owners won't be buying HP ink cartridges nearly as often, with
two HP cartridges instead of one.
